Ten Commandments for Healthy Skin

  1. Eat healthy (fresh fruits and vegetables, 5 glasses of water daily)

Use SPF 45 daily sunblock if you are taking medications that make your skin more susceptible to sunburn, if you have ever been diagnosed with skin cancer, or if you are using professional strength exfoliating products (Retin A, Renova, Skin creams and lotions with greater than 10% Poly or Alpha Hydroxy content).
  9. Use professional strength products only under the supervision of your dermatologist.

  11. Read the list of ingredients on skin care products. Those that contain soy are not recommended for women who have ever been diagnosed with estrogen-dependent tumors. Persons allergic to peanuts should avoid products that contain jojoba and other nut oils. Persons allergic to shellfish should avoid products that contain algae. Persons with sensitive skin should avoid products that contain fragrance or color additives.
